prayers

i hope this morn is good for you

what’s in your head i have no clue

i hope it’s full of butterflies

and that your grin is not a guise

but if it is i pray for you

that peace may come and rest will too

i hope noon time is good for you

a time when all the warmth turns blue

we welcome sky; the clouds will cede

emerge from shade, our souls will plead

with slowing sighs and halting hums

we wait until the twilight comes

i hope this night is good for you

who knows what kinds of things can brew

when lights go dark and eyelids drop

and dreams wake up and angels stop

let all you see just be some sheep

shut demons out; they will not sleep

i hope mid night is good for you

a world is birthed that’s robbed of hue

from post to ante, time will shift

and space and sense may seem to drift

remember this: be still, be true

and all that fractures will renew
